So what are you saying here? The Democrats should not be allowed to perform the duties of public office? That's an interesting position.

May I just mention that the canvassing boards of Broward, Palm Beach and Dade counties could have, if they really wanted to do their bit as partisan zealots, rushed headlong into the recounts and counted every dimpled chad. This would have surely put Gore over the top.

Broward counted some dimpled chads but not all.

Palm Beach used a much stricter standard; the Democrats are complained that they wouldn't count votes that had the name "Gore" written on them. Their recount wasn't accepted anyway because it was late.

Dade abandoned its recount.

The so-called "Democratic" Florida Supreme Court refused to order Dade to resume the recount.

If these people are all acting in concert as ruthless partisan hacks, they're not doing a very efficient job.
