Hi Ray:

The problem with old style video conference centers
is the need for setting up meetings at a fixed time
Video conferencing from one's office is more attractive.
One of my former colleagues who moved to another Campus
is meeting his graduate students virtually
by setting up weekly video conferences over the Internet,
and the students have told me this works fine. Several
organizations such as Techonline are also distributing
technical lectures and courses in this manner. Admittedly,
this reflects ``early adopters'' and high-end users,
but I am convinced this will gradually gather speed.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
