Neo,
Four of the five acres, or nine of the ten, if I get that many, will be kept as pristine as I can provide for. I like nothing better than to have the deer feel safe and welcome to feed on my land, the squirrels to come out of the trees and perch on my knee as they munch on an acorn, or a flock of mult-colored song birds landing close to the house to feed on the grain I will provide for them. There are those that can live in the congestion of the cities, but I cannot. It is just my nature. I spent 5 years in the LA area and became physically ill, and damn near went crazy. Now that I am in less populated country, my health is returning, and my outlook is much more rosy.
Storm sewers, and septic tanks would be useful but, if an educated people, regardless of financial concerns, care enough, they can keep the water they have pure enough to slake thirst, and care for the plants.
Let's face it, you are a city boy, and I am a country boy. You enjoyed Paris, and I would hate it. You enjoy the culinary arts of New York, and I prefer a steak from range fed beef. It's a good thing that two people with such diverse tastes can still be friends.
Vaya con Dios.
