Eric L & tekboy,

I respect your comments greatly. Thank you.

I'm just trying to calculate some independent research on the PDA industry. Objectivity is what I am after in this field.

I have made cheerleading comments as much as anybody else, but I have found that this is a serious distraction to making money.

I'm off in the corner doing some calculations (i.e, gross margins, market share, product development, R&D, wireless development, operating system developments, etc.)

There are a few people that I talk to whom follow electronic numbers, and component issues, closely.

I am very cautious about MSFT's competitiveness. Corel, Lotus, Intuit, Netscape all had good intentions in their attempt to battle Microsoft.

I will try to add any value that I can. But objectivity, a clear mind, a focus upon numbers, and the competition are what I am focusing upon. I am a simple person, and I am not as capable as ignoring the cheerleading as others on si. I want to be prepared for whatever scenario develops -- with facts.

Eric: interesting Jim Seymour article on a "no 3G" scenario, by Jim Seymour, on realmoney.com today.
