What you say is not a fact. Florida state law says that if the intention of the voter can be ascertained then it is a vote. It also says hanging chads are votes. The machine can't always detect a hanging chad although in some case it can.

Also if the voter writes the name of his choice for a candidate on the card it is a vote. Can the machines detect that vote?
