I'm using IB and what I'm trying to say about fills is that they are noticeably slower when I'm on the right side of the trade... when I'm not I am filled nearly instantaneously.

I would say that multi day time frames are much more friendly than intraday, IF we were in a bull market. which we definitely are not.. Now given this fact, Short positions may be much friendlier if looked at in multi day time frames. I have been scared out of all shorts recently because of them running up immediately after being filled, or even while being filled,,uptick rule sux. If I woulda held on that wicked downtrend woulda been my friend.. given my propensity to cover bad shorts nearly instantaneously, I should probably limit my trading to only shorts.. at least I don't let short losers run, but if I would have given my shorts a little more room, they would all be much bigger winners than any of my longs lately..

I'm not sure what you mean by I'm not trading reality, from reading my last ten posts. I am just offering my thoughts here and trying to learn. I admit, I have been trading long for bounces, but I really do want to learn to short..REALLY I DO..LOL... I'm just a stupid optimist and always want to be looking at the positives...

Yes trading long in a downtrending bear market may be "far from reality" , but someone's got to take the other side of all you genius shorts trades right... You should be thanking me.. LOL .. I haven't read your last ten posts, but I assume from your comment you are primarily shorting right now or not trading, right, ie..in cash on sidelines...

In regards to my attitude, yes I hate not being able to predict the immediate future, ie daytrading... but I am very optimistic that I will develop my skills and succeed. my success rate is astounding for the last few months considering that I have been trading long in the most brutal bear market in history.. I will attribute this to dumb luck though...

thanks for your comments, I will take them as constructive criticism.

By the way... are you saying that trading with someone other than an online broker is a better idea?..just wondering..
