My Dear Watson, I'm afraid that you did not see the point that I was making about GWB's statement on quotas. It was not about quotas or about simplicity or honesty. It was about how poorly GWB managed to organise his thoughts and utter a clear concise statement on his position.
"What I'm against is quotas. I am against quotas, quotas they basically delineate based upon whatever. However they delineate, quotas, I think, vulcanize society. So I don't know how that fits into with what everybody else is saying, their relative position, but that's my position." There is nothing clear or simple about that statement. Whenever we read "whatever" or "I think" in a politcian's saying, we know that he doesn't know what he is talking about and is waffling. The only thing that is clear about it is that he knows he doesn't like quotas but he doesn't know why he doesn't like them.
You are a very partisan person and as such, love to pigeon hole people as either Liberals or Republicans and whichever category you assign to them, taints all of your judgements about those people, such as Repubs. are honest and clear and Libs are prone to misunderstand or dishonest or just plain dumb. It may surprise you but I am also against quotas because they are nothing more than reverse discrimination.
On the matter of the force and the pressure, it was not the nomenclature that was the bigger problem but that you did not imply pressure, when you said 25 lbs force. An 8 ounce grapefruit can supply 1/2 lb of force but not 25 lbs worth. It can however, supply 25 psi pressure if the plate or stylus is small enough. There was nothing dishonest in what I said and implying such demeans you and not me.
