I don't see anyone on the high road, rather I see the low road and no road. I guess I understand why Gore is behaving as he is; I doubt he would win a statewide recount on equal terms, but he surely would win if dimpled ballots count only in Democratic counties.

I certainly agree that some of the "activities" of Nixon were worse than anything we have today, with the possible exception of racist "moral leaders" such as Sharpton. Of course Nixon wasn't the only one; I doubt LBJ was much better, for example. Politics was a lot dirtier in those days.

I certainly hope that good things will come out of this. I note that Wisconsin has already decided to do away with chads by the end of 2001, and I would hope that other states will follow.
