What they are doing, as I'm almost certain others are preparing themselves to do, is almost, to the T, what I was suggesting on the LMT the other day.

The difference here, perhaps, is the elimination of the coaxial component on the last couple of hundred feet, where they seem to favor high-cap UTP, or fiber, instead.

But, in essence, I was musing over was the possibility of transforming existing HFC into FTTx, for the delivery of baseband Fast Ethernet to the residence/structure through the use of a field node modification. In this case, a replacement.

I was glad to see this because it reinforces my belief that, to paraphrase:

Where there's a will, there's a right [of] way to go forward, afterall. And doing it in such a way so as to not break the bank in the process.
