It is too late, too impractical and too open to mischief to count these cards manually. First, the cards have been used and abused so there is no certainty a chad dimpled, dislodged or missing was dimpled, dislodged or missing on election day. A recount would be wide open to the divining and possibly the partisan wishes of the counter. Gore should concede and let the country go forward. He is the most selfish major politician in our lifetime. Historically politicans, although brutal in the campaign, have had an honor bound value system to graciously concede once the count is in. View Senator Ashcroft in Missouri, he lost by a very small amount to a dead man. It is legally questionable whether it is right for the widow to be able to stand in for Mel Carnahan. Ashcroft was a gentleman and didn't ask for a recount nor did he challenge whether Ms. Carnahan was qualified to substitute herself for her husband. Nixon was cheated out of the presidency in 1960, amazingly by Bill Daley's father, and he elected not to challenge it "for the good of the country." Gerald Ford lost by a very narrow percentage in 1976 and was encouraged to ask for a recount and again he declined and conceded. Albert Gore has put his selfish self interest ahead of his country. Probably all of us have lost substantial money since 12/7 as the market has gone crazy on the downside due to the Gore crash. Next he may very well send us into recession and he, in my opinion, will not prevail in his evil quest.
