I actually have to admit to having spent time in a folk group as a teen myself. I still have a tape of Peter, Paul, and Mary's 1700 album (I Dig Rock'n'Roll Music, The Great Mandela, The Song is Love, et al), and, although I consider him to be a folk- rocker, in the end, I still listen to a lot of Dylan. One of my top 5 albums is Blue, by Joni Mitchell (again, only "folkish", more pop/rock).
I am sorry to hear about Gorton, but how such a split is handled might be interesting. I do not think it affects the voting dynamics much, given the reluctance to invoke cloture, and the constant necessity of deal making. |
