I would not disagree with you regarding people as you describe. Again, though, given the unpleasantness of the procedure and cost relative to other methods of birth control, I find it very difficult to believe that there are many with an IQ over 20 behaving this way. But, as you said, I have not had contact with one of the clinics, so I will defer to you on that.

It's the sanctimonious so-called "prolife" types (mostly men who haven't a clue what it's like to have to personally deal with any of these issues) who get my blood pressure up when they start in. And, the comments about "mannish" women are just beyond the pale. These "mannish" women they are deriding just happen to be the ones who have the guts to stand up and defend the right of all women (as set out by the U.S. Supreme Court) to have a choice in the matter. I would throw my own stereotype out if we're going to play that game. It's been my observation that the men who are the most fanatical on this issue are wimpy spineless sorts who can't deal with a woman on an equal basis. They have indentured servants they call wives, because intelligent, independent women wouldn't give them a second look. Think, "Col. Frank Fitts - U.S. Marine Corps." in American Beauty. And, no, I am not a "mannish" woman - far from it. I don't have the guts they do to get in there and fight - but I admire their willingness to stand up for what they believe in (being people with a true stake in the issue).

Guys, if you don't like the law, change it. If you can't change it - put a sock in it. Master, this diatribe is not directed at you personally - sorry.

This whole stupid election was about guns and babies - two really ridiculous issues when you get right down to it. I thought both candidates were an utter joke and totally unsuited for presidential power. I loathed Bill Clinton personally but I would rather see him serve another term than either of these two jokers. You can't deny the prosperity that was enjoyed by everyone during his tenure in office, even though that is probably as much a function of timing (his being President during a favorable business cycle) as of anything he did.

Anyway, you "prolifers" can flame away. I don't care. This is an issue that will never go away but hopefully, it will diminish even more in the minds of the general populace than it already has.
