"Maestro" (Alan Greenspan) by Bob Woodward interesting read ! Having gotten through about 2/3s of it I am seeing great similarities in this Fed tightening cycle and the one done in 96 - numerous quotes by Fed members stating how difficult it is to bring the econ in for a soft landing. It seems to me AG needs to quickly change the Feds bias or we are all in deep yogurt (e.g. recession). It also mentions the fact that the Fed likes to tighten the screws ala rate increases more than required. I am afraid this last 50 basis point increase did just that -- too much ! AG will either go down as one of the greatest Fed chairman or he is going to end up being the goat if we slide into recession. Time will tell !
