I take it they think they can sell their MSM5200 to Nokia
Networks or Ericsson. It is a clever spin that they put on the announcement. If you note they tend to make it look like QCT has a whole bunch of liscencees for WCDMA, which is true however they fail to mention the royalties Spinco will have to pay to the GSM group (Mainly NOK amd ERICY) for WCDMA. Many of the companies on the list have already signed up with the GSM consortium for these. In the end it this ATT thing may be a zero-sum game.

I am worried.
