I'm kind of embarassed that I have to come to this learned thread to discover how to read the Dell catalogue!! <gg> Very interesting point about streaming quotes and fragmentation. I will look into this. This whole issue of handling streaming data as well as historical data is putting traders at a crossroads. I foresee that a vastly more powerful type of machine is going to be necessary to remain competent, if not competitive <gg> I have been following the chat on the datek thread btw and found it amusing that Medved claimed the streamer crashes machines. I tried out his software and got the BSOD for my troubles!! <gg> LOL about the computers heating the room. My setup is heading in the direction of a commercial server farm!! <gg> Well, I wanted to be a pro trader! best, Rick
