Poet, Yes I have heard about those tips for the Matzo balls too. My step family is jewish, and they have a thing about making sure there is no finger marks on the finished balls, you have to make the matzo ball mixture just right for that. I never have any luck when using my hands to shape them. I must try using the oil. I would love some new cookie recipes. I am sicilian and have some old world favorites to share as well. If anyone has a good rum ball recipe I would love it. I have one that calls for burbon and there is something about it that is just not right. I love this time of year, all the tradition and family old recipes come out. I'm in such a good mood I just may start to decorate my house for christmas this weekend. drea
