Demosthenes, it wasn't AMAT AMAT was up front by mentioning the warnings by telecommunication companies added uncertainty to their forecast. How many times have investors been blind sided after rosy forecasts during other companys' conference calls. It is the inherent nature of the call to put on the best face possible. I will not mention any specific company in that it can use the excuse that it was due to rapid change in the marketplace. Yes, I am usually skeptical due to my experience.
