From that press release: "The Tsunami Wireless Gigabit Ethernet Bridge is a breakthrough product..."

A bridge is a breakthrough product? If you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell 'ya.

So the network side interface on this puppy is to *which* proprietary fixed wireless network? If it doesn't matter, then it is a plain vanilla bridge.

"The Tsunami Wireless Gigabit Ethernet Bridge is a carrier grade system unaffected by weather, right-of-way issues, line cuts and other factors that plague wire, cable or optical laser products."

And why would a piece of hardware mounted in the basement of a building be affected by weather, line cuts, bla bla bla??

They go on to say "With the product's 99.999 % link availability, users are assured of less than five minutes of outage per year."

How exactly does this piece of hardware that sits at an endpoint and merely forwards frames control overall link availability?

Seems like some serious spin doctoring going on here. The product is just a bridge, but it is being spun so hard that they try to make you dizzy and blur the distinction between the product and the service provider they are targeting, to make it sound like it has some special proprietary attributes for fixed wireless. What I see underneath is just a bridge. That being the case, anybody's bridge could be used.

So I don't see any parallel with TeraBeam at all (other than Terabeam could also buy their bridge if they wanted).

So you got an entirely different view of this offering than I did. Did I overlook something, and my assessment is incorrect?
