My theory is the Florida Legislature is flexing its "hey-we-can-send-Florida's-electors-off-to-college" muscle steroid medicine as a backdrop against possible consequences of the butterfly ballot trial, Seminole and Martin County and perhaps some others. I don't think the Florida Legislature would move against a fair recount. It'd be suicide for virtually all of 'em, as they'd begin their reelection campaigns with more than half of the voters opposing 'em, this being especially true in statewide elections. And I don't think, since there's so many GOP Floridian legislators, that Bush will be able to find jobs for 'em like he will for Ambassador-elect Harris.
