Dan,
RE:"In case you didn't notice, Jim, the Palm Beach recount didn't finish"

The deadline was 5PM Nov. 26th. At that time LePore and Roberts faxed the incomplete results to the SOS. +170 for Gore.
Shortly thereafter. The count continued and the entire count was completed at 7:10 PM. The total was 188 for Gore.
This was faxed to the SOS.
Then auditors were brought in. They found 14 less votes for Gore due to some clerical errors...so the FINAL Palm Beach County hand recount was 174 Gore. Not enough at any rate.
Perhaps you don't know but Gore wants another hand recount of Palm Beach County but this time with more liberal rules on dimpled chads, like used in Broward where Gore gained about 500 votes. There is no standard.
I'll let you off on this one becasue you don't live here...(lucky you)

RE:"because the idealistic and legally infallible Republicans sent in the thugs. Er, make that Congressional staffers on holiday"

The counters are volunteers. Judge Burton (a democrat) decided to not count on thanksgiving and gave everyone the day off. This was approved by the other two canvassing board members Roberts and Lapore or at least one of them.
Because of this the Palm Beach counters ran out of time. Didn't make any difference anyway.

So what the h$ll are you talking about with the Republicans sending in "thugs" into Palm Beach county?

Jim
