<<The Dell workstation would probably be the computer to look at for configuration ideas. Why the trading machines are not under home computers is puzzling to me. The idea of dual processors is intriguing. You could have one devoted to the trading activity and one devoted to everything else (or so it would seem). Is 2 733 equal to one 1.5 chip?>>

I am a tech dummy so I don't know if two 733mhz processors would "equal" one 1.5ghz. I only vaguely remember some discussion about why dual processors are helpful. Maybe the smart folks on the thread can help us out on this.

I got the BSOD when I closed Medved's software (see his posts on datek thread for the url). He was contending that the streamer crashed computers so I tried his package out as a test. It is an okay package for free <g> in fact it is pretty impressive for free but it seems to be one of the worst resource hogs I've ever loaded. I assume that it tapped my resources so severely (tho this didn't show up on my resource meter which is always open on my taskbar) that shutting it down was too much for my poor Dell. I have not had the streamer crash my box but I have noticed that it has been tough to access at times. BTW, I have compared the streamer to SIs realtime streamer and Datek's is in the area of a couple of seconds faster. SIs streamer is actually pretty nice, btw. Have you tried it?

best,

Rick

ps. This is my first SI post from IE5.5. Does it look normal? <g>
