Oh My! Police skulduggery, and botched at that. Do you suppose the New Haven detectives interned at the LAPD?

Los Angeles is embroiled in what may be the biggest US police scandal ever, with more than 70 officers being investigated. So far more than 100 convictions have been overturned. Officers routinely lied and framed innocent people to rid the streets of gangs. I suppose one might say they were "acting in the interest of public safety...."

So what's the excuse in New Haven? Incompetence seems too simplistic.
