Keep investigating "If the contested votes in Florida are counted we do not know if Bush or Gore will win. If Gore wins, it legitimizes his popular win nationwide. If he loses, we are assured that he did so legitimately. Jeb Bush "promised" Florida's votes to his big brother. Bush's team vigorously fought the recount. Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush have officially certified Bush the winner of Florida's electoral votes even though the election is legally contested. Bush's team shows less concern with democracy than with securing power. Please, spare us the media pundits, and beef up the investigative journalism in Florida. American citizens have a right to know why the voting improprieties in Florida occurred. We should not install a leader merely to spare us uncertainty. Our democracy is being tested and the Constitution is only in crisis if the American people are not patient enough to follow its rule and interpretation by the courts. " Tia Hallberg, Seattle
