Wexler is a What do you expect politician. elected by a minority of voters in his district (including the entire Voting Population) He is exactly what you'd expect. He spins everything in order to stay at the public trough and get what he can for his minority supporters. Minority in this case being any coallitions of voters who have bound together to seek for themselves political largess.

Politicians like Wexler are what is wrong in the system, they advantage themselves by diminishing others. They ignore the numbers and perform as political hacks, thinking all the time about the next election and what coallitions he might be forced to deal with. His assumptions about the electorate while true now, will not stand the test of time because the times they are a changin.
