Kenneth, I don't have a problem with hammering anyone who discriminates against someone due to their race or religion. I have been on the wrong side of that for more years than most of the people on this site have been alive.
I don't have a problem with tightening up election laws and making sure that voting machines work properly. I don't have a problem with lawful manual recounts in Florida...it's the law.
We can argue forever about what "might have happened" to African-American ballots in Florida. You can be assured that you and I will stand shoulder to shoulder against anyone who tries to stop any voter, no matter who it is, from voting. I've been to Florida, I've been to Alabama, I've been to Louisiana. I've also been to Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Los Angeles. Racial and religious prejudice stems from ignorance in my opinion. Nothing more and nothing less. I don't agree with Bush's posture on the subject in this area, I wish he were more proactive on ensuring that minorities have the same opportunity to vote as everyone else EVERYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY.
Posting a story like that to give the impression that there was somehow some illegal activity going on does not support your cause. You're not ignorant.
What I have a major problem with your use of the word "vote".
You can call a disqualified ballot a vote if you want to, and you can rant about racism and illegal acts all you want, but your ranting cannot change the truth. I really hope the United States Supreme Court has something to say about what a vote is or is not in its ruling.
In this election in Florida, I saw the truth with my own two eyes. I believe I saw Suzanne Gunzberger manufacturing votes for Al Gore in the Broward County hand recount. She turned a disqualified ballot into a vote for Al Gore. She's a Democrat. She did it on purpose. I think she committed fraud on national television. I'm in the process of getting a tape of the thing so I can watch it again and see if I'm right. But I'm pretty sure I am.
My position on this whole thing is that you can post all the stories you want about things that other people think, and conclusions that other people made, and conclusions you have made, but I saw Suzanne Gunzberger create votes for Al Gore. In my mind, all the recounts are fraudulent because there were no set standards, the standards that were used were subjective, and the subjective standards were applied in specific counties to ensure that Mr. Gore got additional "votes."
I don't need to post any newspaper articles about this stuff. I saw it with my own eyes. |
