Steve~

I have had my say against the Catholic Record. History makes them an awfully big target for criticism. I am not, however, one of their direct victims, so my opposition to them is (I sincerely hope), no different than my resistance to anything else that I consider to be a threat to freedom.

Any Institution that claims to work the commands of a Supernatural Force, and to be entitled to act as the Agent of that Principle, in the Service of Mankind-That Institution must never again be allowed the POWER to carry out their vainglorious MANDATE.

Other than that, Steve, I have nothing in particular against the Catholic Church.

Bacause the Religious appetite for power, can be obscured and justified by the secrets and mysteries of the Supernatural--it remains dangerous, not merely of itself--but as a pawn in the Political appetite for power. There are countless people, who cannot be swayed by self serving reason, yet are prepared to plunge into battle like banshees, at the first appeal of those defending the mysteries and the secrets. You probably know better than I, Steve, how much of the world is doing this very thing even as we correspond.

Averagejoe is not mistaken in that I am opposed to all dictators, or dictatorships, that wish to impose their Truth upon anyone else. I guess he would have no problem with this, if only I would leave the Catholic Church out of it...
