How do I disable the Networking Password box that pops up every time I start my computer. I don't need it,
and it's annoying! Any ideas?

In Control Panel, go to Password properties, then, in the User Profiles tab and check off All users of this
computer use the same preferences and desktop settings

( I think it's the same in Win95 and Win98. )>>

I tried this yesterday but didn't restart my computer till this morning, when I was quite surprised to find that W98 had forgotten ALL my preferences and setups!!!

I am digging stuff out of a C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\ file and rebuilding stuff like screen res, mouse programming and tons of other stuff. I'll live <g> but I'd advise against the above strategy if your only goal is turn off the password window. I think there's a better way to do it.

best,

Rick

ps. Didn't someone advise me to create an image of my setup? <gg>
