All indexes are faulty. Maybe 10 stocks would be 90% accurate, but you would need 100 stocks to get to 98%, and a lot of weird mathematical adjustments to get to 99.9%. There is a trade off between making it accurate and manageable, hence understandable. 25 well slected stocks should be enough to get it close, but not so many as to confuse the average investor. That was my objective, therefore I felt that I did pretty good.

I have not taken the time to go back and get all the hisotrical data to calculate it. Even with my efforts 50% of the index is in 5 stocks, so it might not be too much different than the XAU/GOX/HUI/TSE/CDNX indicies,
