I am really confused by what you are trying to say. You think it's a Good Thing that there be localized, screwy, antiquated voting machinery that messes up national elections, and may even frustrate voting rights? "The Feds" to you is some evil demon, out to harm you. This is as absurd as saying that federal officials are all good and benevolent. Maybe "the Feds" shouldn't have established the Center For Disease Control, or the United States Army? How about the FBI's Internet Child Pornography Unit? Not a Good Thing? There are some areas where we want and need some national uniformity, and in the area of election for our common President this does not offend anyone's states' rights.
