the Republican Party had a genuine popular groundswell behind the candidacy of John McCain, and they crushed him How quickly you have forgotten Gore's brutal treatment of Bill Bradley. And btw, for the record, the Republican party muckety-mucks resented McCain being involved as it forced Bush to spend campaign money he wanted to hold in reserve for dueling it out with Gore. (I voted for McCain, so I should know...) Just keeping the record straight... This was a brutal race for both sides. Regards, Ron
