I don't think a determination that VLNC's battery is substantially different or inferior can be made from the references given. The original Bellcore patent discusses a SOLUTION (liquid) in the polymer electrolyte. I'm looking for good things out of ULBI and great things out of VLNC. Time will, of course, tell.
