Garet: I try to learn enough about a company's business dealings to be able to anticipate price movements. For instance, I expected a positive move from VIAS recently because of the upcoming User Conference (next week), combined with their 4th quarter fiscal report. Their 4th quarter has historically been a barn-burner. I expect this year, with the added impetus of the Y2K activity, to be a humdinger.

As to your short-side trifecta ... I agree with the ZITL/DDIM portions, but will wait until after VIAS' annual report to see how it goes. I expect a decent upmove from those results ... near-term, anyway. Give it 3 months, and we'll be betting the same combinations ... except that I don't do shorts. I'll just take my money from the long side and find some other hot horse/jockey combination to bet on.
