Scumbria, re:Have you ever seen me defend PowerPC?
No, that was before my "SI" time, but I suppose that working on the PowerPC must have been frustrating - seeing so much effort effectively flushed down the drain (not unlike my own experiences at the little i). And since your fervor in attacking Intel is hard to understand just by the facts, I suspect such frustration may be the root cause.
You are a little bit political yourself
Well, I suppose it would be easy to get that impression from my posts. On the contrary, I not that adamant. In fact, the only real reason I voted for Bush (as the lessor of two evils), was that 1) I simply could not stand the way Gore would "make up" facts to use in discussion/debate of various issues and 2) I could not reconcile the image of him addressing tobacco growers saying "I've planted it, picked it, dried it, ..." with his tear-jerking speech about his sister dying of cancer. In all, too manipulative. Of course, I'm sure that you have much better reasons for your position on the candidates, but it doesn't really matter since the election is over.
Nope, the reason you see my posts as political is that I don't much care for distortions (like the continual portrayal of the "improved absentee ballot applications" as "fraudulent ballots"), attempts to change the rules after the game is played (reading voter intent from dimpled chads), or excessive spin (like Gore offering to recount all of Florida, when its not his to offer in the first place).
At this point, I couldn't give a rat's $#@ who wins. Neither one will be effective as President (and unfortunately, I still think a likely target for an extremist). But the rules ought to be followed, no matter how much the loser whines. Period.
