Richard Russell of Dow Theory Letters pointed out some interesting numbers: Since WW1, there have only been three times when an index has fallen further than the NASDAQ has this year, and in all the other cases, it took much longer to do it:

1. The Dow dropped 89.2% to a low in 1932, taking 1039 days.
2. The S&P dropped 86.2% to a low in 1932, taking 998 days.
3. The NASDAQ dropped 59.9% to a low in 1974, taking 630 days.
4. The NASDAQ dropped 48.5% to a low Friday, taking only 265 days.
