Makes sense, TED. Our comfort levels differ regarding long vs. short, but I agree with much of what you say. I've weighted VIAS the lightest of the three on the short side.

When will people decide to hit the exit? That's the big question. I suspect that we'll see a stampede once people feel a draft from the open door. No one wants to be last out. 2000 will be too late.

IMO, if you view shorting as simply a mechanical process of reversing the buy/sell order, it's less daunting. Sleep is a great thing, though, and you shouldn't do something that causes unwelcome anxiety.
