It seems like the last line of the U.S. Supreme Court Order remands the case back to the Florida's high court for further consideration.

I wrote earlier that the Florida court made the right decision to allow the counting, but that it might have erred by, itself, setting a deadline. I think that's what this is all about, i.e., the Florida Supreme Court setting a deadline. I think the state court has the power to enable the recounts, but it has no power to set a deadline.

If this is the case, we're just further in the legal muck. This would be so much easier if Bush would simply let Gore get his hand count in the four counties in which he requested one. After all, the Bush Camp is requesting a county-specific hand recount in New Mexico.

Maybe if both sides made a list entitled "Where Are We Hypocritical?" this situation could be desciphered. But how could this have happened when Bush refused to meet with Gore early on?
