Eventually these ballots are going to be studied.


This election, inspection of the ballots, etc. will be a subject of many, many "scholarly" articles and PhD theses in the years and decades to come. Since ballots are apparently public records in Florida and a citizen has the right to come in and inspect them, I foresee many students wanting to view them to write theses and articles on their import, reading and re-reading them as though they were the entrails of divine birds.

"Who won the Florida 2000 election" will become another of those perennial questions like Area 51 and who shot JFK. In fact, the only thing missing so far is the accusation of alien intervention in punching dimnples in chads, and it's only a matter of time until Art Bell gets on the case.
