Firstly, Chris, I am surprised that you would admit to the scriptures where God counsels lying, murder, and other evils, and where he admits to these attributes. Most Christians would interpret these clear words until they disappeared entirely. Unfortunately, the reason you are capable of taking the bible at face value is precisely because you are an obsessive/compulsive fanatic. In spite of the effect you sometimes have upon decent and innocent people...I can't help but feeling compassion for you in your mighty struggle to make sense of your life. If you would just look in the mirror one day and realize that you don't need to live your life by proxy, but can walk into the world doing good, and being the decent person you really are at your inner core...you would know what it is like to walk with a light step, with no weight of unearned guilt upon your shoulders. This is my hope for you.
