Oops. All those zeros confused me. 28300 x 2204 x US$15 = 935,598,000 or about US$1 billion. More than half of this comes from less than reliable suppliers, or suppliers that have had declining production over the past several decades. I have heard that the PAL supplies of cobalt are going to flood the market. Before this I heard that the central African nations are going to resolve their differences, shake hands (those that still have them) and make up. Money is going to rebuild their infrastructure and their copper + cobalt deposits (which are outstanding in terms of grade and tonnage) are going to supply all of the world's needs. Oh yeah, and Russia is going to clean up it's act and attract all the capital required to repair and rebuild its Ni-Cu - Co PGM production. Maybe?
