Hi Bob,
Yes, and we may have missed a good chance for a low priced purchase. I think we may begin to see some significant rallying in the NDX as more and more people begin to anticipate an interest rate cut in January as well as an end to this election circus. But who knows, so I'm not going to buy unless UOPIX touches 30 or less.
Say Bob, a while back you may have mentioned an idea I had considered before regarding using the single beta OTC more in conjunction with UOPIX. It was a while back, so correct me if I'm wrong and if I am now confusing you with someone else.
During times of uncertainty, if I slowly sell off UOPIX in increments as it rises, and exchange the proceeds into OTC (sorry I don't know the symbol for ProFunds QQQ equivalent) then I could continue to enjoy the price appreciate of NDX while minimizing risk. Perhaps a person could even do this with AIM using UOPIX as the primary position and OTC as the "cash" position. Then, during times of decline, OTC would not decrease as rapidly as UOPIX, and I would still be able to increase my UOPIX holdings with either scaling, the AIM model, or just gradual repurchasing of UOPIX at progressively lower prices. I may study this concept further and backtest it later.
