Fed's Broaddus : No help from voting Fed president Broaddus today as in speaking to a group in Richmond stated that he has seen a little uptick in U.S. inflation recently. As the market is spinning off huge declines in equity capital, a recession in manufacturing and fear of a sharper slowing in the economy the Fed has been pretty firm in holding the line on the November policy directive which saw inflation risk ahead. That risk assessment needs to soften before we can expect the Fed to ease off on the restrictive policy stance. Greenspan steps up on to the soapbox tomorrow just two weeks before the FOMC -- prime time for some transparency on policy direction.
