Why go through all the byzantine maneuvering if that was the case? Seems odd. I think there's entirely too much spin analysis going on. All I know, Q and Dr. J. hold the trump cards in 3G. Why would anyone suggest that Dr. J. would give away the keys to the castle now? Don't worry, be happy.
