Well, before you start believing that Theresa Lepore and her associates are really republicans in liberal clothing, please recall the black female republican who, although only losing by 11 votes in a local Palm Beach electon, was DENIED a manual recount of ANY kind.

I hope this candidate takes the PB canvassing board to court as well.

But as for elected or appointed officals recusing themselves, so long as they operate strictly within the authority of their respective offices, I see no reason for any of them to recuse themselves. Jeb Bush may be the only exception here due to his relationship to the president.

However, we saw a democratic Jurist give a very even ruling today on the recount issue. A ruling that was well substantiated in election law and one that will be unlikely to be overturned in a court of appeals.
