One major issue is well on the way to being resolved: Bush won a decisive ruling in Florida. Gore's camp has already initiated an appeal but this has a snow ball's chance in a semiconductor furnace of success. The appeal must be on grounds of legal findings, not on the issue of finding of fact on the balloting. The supreme court is unlikely to upset this verdict. Meanwhile, the U.S. Supreme court remanded the case before it to the Florida Supreme Court for a clear ruling on why it imposed a timeline usurping the authority of duly elected state officials. Whatever the spin Boeis tries to put on it, Gore has lost badly and now has very few grounds for reconsideration upon appeal.

Our glorious national beuracracy is going to be in a state of disarray and gridlock is likely. This is the best outcome for business and stocks.
