Why the critique?

mrmark,

You stated:

"...that's the only reason i can come up with for some of the hand-wringing i see here. i've seen some folks here change their mind on what they think is the best handheld (if there even is such a thing) every week. sometimes from one post to the next..."

What I don't understand is the critique on my posting of my preferences?

Each PDA is different in its attributes. I use each one for unique reasons. The M100 fits in my pocket. I love the simplicity and ease of the Palm product line.

But I want more -- as do many customers.

I have stated my feelings and reasons in every case. I have purchased over 10 Palm PDAs. I have purchased a couple Handsprings and three Microsoft C/Es.

I'm focused upon the short-term and the long-term. I am not in the business of holding a stock that sells for $100 and watch it go to $15. I want to be prepared on the competitive landscape based upon being informed in the event the stock goes to high or to low (in my opinion).

Market share, product differentations, rebates, gross margins, profits, accessories, management teams, personal usage experience, component manufacturers, and allies all have a role in the success of a company. That is why I research these factors to no end.

If you have criticism of my short-term focus, then ignore it. Identification of customers concerns, based upon customer usage, is a valuable insight into PDAs.

SI members have PMd me about this very issue and appreciation.

There is a distinct difference between a M100 with 2 MB that fits comfortably in my pocket and a HWP548 with a slot for additional storage, 32 mb, awesome color screen, word, excel, and ewallet applications (for photos and book reading applications). I discuss these issues and why I like one better than another. Sometimes my memory isn't too good, thus my preference for the M100 on some days. Other days I love the ease of reading the internet on the incredible color screen on the HWP548.

People PM me and let me know they appreciate my comments. I admit I am wrong quite often. But I state my opinions and known facts at the time of my postings. Nothing more, nothing less. I have no agenda other than to seek out the truth. I don't cheerlead. Anyone, right now, could go over to the Palm thread and see the cheerleading that occurs with almost every post. I have yet to read any negative comments about Palm from you, Mang, or lkj. Why is this? Is there no value in objectivity?

We both would like to see Palm go to $1000 per share. But in the meantime, there are issues to be addressed.

Please just ignore my postings -- because I am consistent in what I post: honest opinions based upon my feelings at any given time. This may not suit your needs or desires, as cheerleading does not suit my needs -- thus this thread.
