Those who deny God and the Lordship of Jesus Christ are in utter darkness. You see God isn't impressed how good people make themselves out to be in the eyes of their fellow man. He has pronounced that are have sinned and that all fall short of the glory of God. Unless our righteousness exceed that of the scribes and the pharisees there is no hope for that soul. Jesus is the propitiation for our sins, if we don't accept his righteousness in stead of our own we are lost eternally.
