PNG gas pipeline customer contracts in final stages SYDNEY, December 5, AAP News - Oil Search Ltd managing director Peter Botten today said he expected significant progress on sealing contracts with potential customers of the $5 billion Papua New Guinea to Queensland gas pipeline project by Christmas. "We expect, or hope, to achieve agreement on the fundamental terms of the contracts (by Christmas)," he told reporters. "That's what we are negotiating now. "We genuinely believe that what we have got on the table is fair and reasonable for both sides." Mr Botten's comments came after he addressed the sixth Papua New Guinea Mining and Petroleum Investing Conference in Sydney.
