People like to rewrite history. He was shot by a young lady as far as I can remember, a bullet in his neck was removed few years later (1922) but he became paralyzed and suffered a series of strokes, the last one killed him in 1924. I never heard of him dying from the "clap" (which, by the way was not that fatal even then, unlike syphilis, which has been fatal until the late 40'.) Why do we always have to demonize people because we do not like their politics? I actually read some of his treatises in my youth, and while I was impressed with his analytical abilities, his book about modern physics (which I read long before I became a physicist) was what turned me away from reading the rest of his works. I probably missed quite some interesting readings... Zeev
