RE: ECN'S 'NOT PARTICIPATING' IN SUPERSOES...

Very quickly...

First, SUPERSOES has been delayed officially until January 22nd. The link is here: nasdaqtrader.com

When the ECN's say they are not participating it means that they WILL NOT be SUPERSOES eligible. MEANING: You can only access them with SELECTNET or the ECN's direct system.

Now, think about this people... ISLD, INCA and BTRD will not be participating in the SUPERSOES order routing and execution facility... Hmmmm... Seem strange? Not really when we think about it...

You might ask, WHY? Well, if these ECN's actually participated in the SUPERSOES routing, what would the advantage be in using them? The SUPERSOES system is essentially making the NASDAQ a big ECN anyway... and if these firms participate that helps NASDAQ move one step closer to becoming a big crossing network... which will eliminate ECN's and their profits... Which also explains why ECN's are against SUPERMONTAGE and SUPERSOES in the first place right?

I could be wrong but I don't think I am on this one.

By the way... ANTHONY@PACIFIC -- You and I have never spoken but I have heard a lot about you and I welcome you and your insights to our thread. Feel free to ask the tough questions here... I am not afraid to answer them. Your input here will be greatly appreciated and a nice addition to the array of very intelligent posters already present.

I will have a big SUPERSOES update to follow once it finally implements.

All the best,

-- Gene
