I am not sure what you mean by the "anxious" population. Apart from the cleverness of the film, "Pulp Fiction" dealt with the moral concerns that exist even on the edge of society, among the predators and parasites. In that way, the existence of the moral sense, and its importance in defining our humanity, is highlighted. It is difficult to get financing unless people believe they have a reasonable chance at recouping their investment. That does not preclude other motives, including flattery, a love of film, and so on........
